AUGUSTMAN and MIAJA GALLERY have teamed up to raise awareness and funds for this year’s select charity, Global Clinic.
GLOBAL CLINIC organises mission trips to less developed countries, where they focus on providing services that are critical for the general public but are generally overlooked in poorer households because of costs. The first is cataract surgeries, which allow the elderly to function normally without needing extra care; another is general eye care and prescription glasses which the poor may not be able to afford. Another segment is the cleft lip surgical department, which aids children, infants and young adults with cleft lip defects. The problem, which is easily fixed when young, can cause much more serious speech impediments when they grow older. The last is the obstetrics department, which offers women essential gender healthcare.
