Miaja Gallery presents its latest exhibition of solo works by Singapore Artist, Ieo Gek Ching. Inspired by the hybridism of the natural environment, and by the different idiosyncrasies and characteristics of each animal species, Gek Ching aptly expresses her concern for the ecological environment through her art. With an advocacy for the unique and unusual, she continues to develop her distinct drawing style with a pronounced and singular use of colour, breathing a new life into her latest animal hybrid series. Their highly intricate nature unfolds and evolves upon her specially prepared paper, resembling the expressions of their living ancestors, that is both startling and beautiful.
