At its upcoming pop-up exhibition, ‘Les Ailes d’une Femme‘ (Wings of a Woman), Miaja Gallery will be showcasing an art exhibition in celebration of International Women’s Day (8th March), featuring artists Nissa Kauppila (U.S.A.) and Kim Xu (Shanghai). A portion of the proceeds from the sale of artworks will be donated to Singapore Council of Women’s Organisation (SCWO) Service Fund; which extends the aid rendered by the Star Shelter to survivors of domestic violence and their families; as well as other SCWO initiatives, services and facilities.

Both artists explore a deep connection with personal experiences, be it joy, passion, perseverance or despair, and through their art express how both fragility and strength can define an individual. Each of the subjects that both Nissa and Kim paint are reflections and symbols that naturally align with the cause of what Women’s Day represents: a celebration of love and respect towards the achievements made by women throughout history.
